No. Any phone, tablet or laptop with a camera works. Dedicated scanners and badge printers are supported where throughput demands them.
What happens if the venue network fails?
Scanning continues against a local credential cache. Queued scans reconcile automatically on reconnect, with duplicates flagged for review.
